Seven groups will give talks on 7/21 (Sat), and there will be a special talk by our residents, Henrike NAUMANN and Elisa CALDANA & NAGASAKA Aki, with the guest MOURI Yoshitaka on 7/22 (Sun). Growing up in Eastern Germany, Henrike NAUMANN experienced the reunification process of East and West Germany in the 90s and is interested in the mechanisms of radicalization and the friction of political opinions implied in the designs and fashion of certain time and place. In Tokyo, she explores the aesthetic of "sapeurs" in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo), who wear branded designer clothing of Japan from the 1980s. Elisa CALDANA & NAGASAKA Aki examine different states of crisis in contemporary society, and in Tokyo, researched the Lost Decades after the collapse of bubble economy, Lost Generation and the identities and living strategies formed as a product of the crisis. They will discuss with MOURI Yoshitaka the transformation of times, systems and values, as the Heisei era, which started in 1989, is about to end.
