Huneault's work focuses on issues related to development, trauma, migration, and other geographically complex realities, including the impact of climate and sanitary changes. Committed to a personal and collaborative approach, he often brings together still images, oral histories and immersive elements. His projects are developed in chapters over a period of several years, and are presented through complementary platforms ranging from contemporary art spaces to traditional media to academic publications and conferences.
