Purpose of the residency

While defining"nation"and independence are Quebec's ongoing issues, I am interested in how people construct and maintain their individual identity in such multi-cultural city. Through the conversations with people, I want to contrast my thoughts by eastern philosophy influenced language with their French influence. To present my work in I would also reflect the feedback of my work to my art practice.

Plan during the residency

- Research materials. Research available work environment such as woodshop and bronze casting workshop etc. to make plans.
- Visit aboriginal culture center to make specific plans. Meet people. Gather their fork stories.
- Ask people as well as read about Quebec independent movement and definition of "nation", while I will meet with people in Montreal and at the Centre Clark.
- Walk around Montreal. - Fabrication of work and presentation.
