Purpose of the residency

1) Deepening of the thoughts regarding photography: I want to explore deeper into questions like the definition of photography, the structure of the act of looking at something, and being looked; photographic elements like light, memory, record and mediumness.
2) Diversification in the direction of my works: since the exhibitions of 2012, I started to contact to artists from many other areas of expertise, and felt a great range of possibilities there. As one of my main interests are concerns are the closed loops of the "meta-structures", through the collaboration of other creators I want to try to change the closed loop structure of my concern into an open spiral form creating works in collaboration with other artists. 3) Though of the social role and responsibility of the arts and the artists.
4) Beyond "The meta structure": I want to go further in the thinking of the structure of the meta structures and break through it, not by leaving it, but passing through it, just like the zen words refers to it: "transcending the consciousness through consciousness".

Plan during the residency

First I am planning to start the residence with a research of the place, the surroundings and at the same time a insight in my change of psychological state, and aiming to create a base for this years creation of works.
Starting with the "meeting" with these new places, events and people, I will try to merge them up with my past memories and ideas to search for new bases for works. I also plan to research and carry out a new project for photographs of the nuclear plants in Japan, of which I will hold and exhibition in December.
