Purpose of the residency

I will produce a specific piece for an exhibition at the Cervantes Institute in Tokio

"RECUERDOS DE ESPANA" (Instituto Cervantes Tokio)


I want to produce a work focused in my interest in anthropologic and popular traditions. I would like to connect Spanish and Japanese cultures.

Achievements of the residency
My residency was really pleasant and intense. Althought it was a short period of work, I had the opportunity to interact with many artists (specially from far east ) who gave me the opportunity to find a different pespective about the Works we all were developing in a really special city like Tokio. It was very easy to work with the people envolved in the programe, we had exchanged information and opinions about many things and this will be reflected for sure in my future works.

I would like to come back to Japan for a long period in order to go deeper in Japanese culture and to know more about the interest of Japanese people for Andalusian culture.

Outcome of the exchange
I'm really happy with the final work I've produced during my residency, and again, I've to say how helpfull was the people envolved in my Project, which definetively is a good part of the pieces I show at the end of the program. It was trully a sperience I would like to repeat.
