About works

Walsh’s work largely focuses on exploring the instability that follows any rupture created by technology in the corporeality of culture. Walsh has become enthralled by the creatures born out of these ruptures, as if almost willed into being by a force of generative power. The bodies of these creatures remain sites of knowledge creation and exploration by bringing to life our collective cultural fears and technologically mediated desires.
As an artist, Walsh sets out to make space for these emerging, haunting, or lurking creatures, often asking who is more monstrous: the creature or their creator(s)? By doing so,Walsh aims to reveal how technology, life, and nature are entangled and ensnared in a myriad of networks and relationships.
