Sornchai Phongsa (b.1991, Kanchanaburi) graduated with MFA, First-Class Honor, from Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University. As he is a Thai-Mon race, he has a particular interest in animism, ethnicity and invisible. His unique style is using local materials for painting and synchronizing to the installation. His famous project is a representation of his ancestor spiritual beliefs Mon's Spirirts Totem (Early Years Project by Young Artist Network, BACC, Bangkok,2017). Montopia at Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris, France, 2018).

He was selected for Bangkok Art Bienale 2018, Artist in Residency Tokyo Art And Space (Tokyo, Japan, 2018), Artist in residency at Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris, France, 2017), Exchange at École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts ( Paris, France, 2018). He was selected for Mobility Funding from BACC (Documenta, German, 2017). JENESYS 2.0(Tokyo, 2014) and as one of ten artists in Art Competition Reality TV Show "Art Tree Season 1" on Thai PBS Channel (2011). At present, Sornchai produces his work in Bangkok, Thailand.
