Purpose of the residency

The purpose is to create new series of animism, which aims to link the animism in Japanese traditional ceremony. These practices would be an opportunity to reconsider my artworks from other points of view and enable me to expand my expressive styles. Besides, looking for some common points between Japan and Thai bring me deeper mutual perceptions in Animism. I focusing on The ceremony of Obon festival (also known as Bon festival) is an annual Japanese holiday which commemorates and remembers deceased ancestors. It is believed that their spirits return at this time to visit their relatives.It was an important to observation and fieldwork, this opportunity will take me more than possible to discover the history of the origins of festival.

Plan during the residency

-First, I would like to explore the contrast and similiar the Animism between Thai and Japanese bhuddist. Kobayashi always do the rituals in Akita Obon festival. That made me interesting to explore the reason.
-Then, to find out the reasons why the Animism that important for elder people and how young generation deals with it.
-So, I will have to work with local partners and professionnals. I am very keen to discover Japanese culture through meeting buddhist Japanese of my generation.
