Born in 1981 Graduated from UCLA with a MFA in 2013.

I recently graduated from UCLA with a MFA in Design Media Arts in 2013 with a scholarship from DesignSingapore. Additionally, I have received awards such as the Jury Recommendation Award in the Japan Media Arts Festival and Core77's Design Award. In the coming year, I will be having a Solo Show in the Arbeit Gallery in London and a commissioned work in the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival in 2014. This trip is sponsored by the Singapore National Arts Council, under its capability development grant.
About works / performance
Kian-Peng ONG is a new media artist who works in the intersection of art and technology. Most of my works deals with the physical properties of sound, often working across multiple sensory modalities. He is also very inspired by events happening around him on a daily basis. His early works dealt mainly with issues surrounding nature and climate change, creating works from device art to audiovisual performances. His recent works have been increasingly leaning towards sound, often an investigation towards sound as a felt phenomenon.
