In his research-based work, Jean-Maxime Dufresne investigate transformations that occur in our built, natural and technological environments, while exploring the human psyche and sociopolitical realities. These multifaceted processes of inquiry that hover between fiction and documentary combine the means of photography, video and sound. Creating fertile dialogues between the role of images and the spatial arrangement of research material, his work is experienced through the form of installations designed for each venue. He is pursuing individual practices and a duo collaboration with Virginie LAGANIÈRE.
