Purpose of the residency
In Berlin 25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, there is still vigour for change in society. It is a city that has proceeded due to the power of all its artists, their power of imagination and creation. Times have changed a little, but even these days artists take up an important role in Berliner society: They are imposed to catch reality in many ways. Bethanien with its impressing history and rich event calendar has become a cultural hub for a broad public audience as well as members of art society. It is a special experience for a contemporary artist to take up an active role in such a location and create an exhibition or open space. Ever since I hope to broaden my range of activities, have a push forward and deepen exchange. Photography and video as they serve as instruments for the making of documentary are inevitable to my projects. Meanwhile a wide space always opens the possibility to make installations or do performance work, as I am perpetually intrigued with the research on the state of art in public space.
Plan during the residency
From my activity style, Installation is kind of Archive fo me.
So during this recharch programme, I want to learn to make a new archive style of installlation.
this programme bring me very good opportunity to get a dialogue with ordinance through the Open Studio, Exhibition and StudioVisit.
In the begining of month, I would like start to make a new work production then end of the month, showing a little exhibition of the result.
