Purpose of the residency
I did not feel like I come to foreign country that strongly compare to other countries, when I first time visited Taiwan. I even felt some kind of nostalgia, maybe because we have similar culture background to use Kanji and chopsticks, but also the strong influence from the Japanese colonial time to nowadays. I start to believe that these two countries could be like mirror to show their past to future, and those sight of views can lead both countries to face their own problems after I repeat visiting. I am intended to show such a possibility by this program.
Plan during the residency
Communicate with the local people to research their life and meanings to live in the treasure hill, and make it visualize with the process and creating. I would like to look for their life habits and its value to share as "Treasure" and out put with those people. This project is to review the daily life for reconsidering the irreplaceable value and share it for increasing the confident on living. Salute local people and make connection, and interview about their life. Open the studio to make it as the place to communicate and also to show my living.
