My project is based on the idea of mixing the sounds recorded in Tokyo and Japan with sounds from Basque Country, in a new electronic work, of approximately 10'. It can be offered as a music installation- exhibition, or piece of concert, next to photographs/video of both places with reference to the sonorous, human landscape. Tokyo for me, reflects a dynamic personality that I would love to capture in my work, like a utopia of a sonorous world. My research is based on the Contemporary Japan, mirror of Ancient and traditional Japan I want to record influences from the sounds of the city, nature; transforming them by means of electronic processes. Basque, Spanish and Japanese language combined as a way of mixing showing the similarities and differences that appear to provide these cultures with a common universe.
The first, I'm going to listen carefully to the sonorous landscape of the streets of Tokyo, listening to the variants of the voice, according to the different actions Sonorous material recording, in diverse places: language, songs, urban and nature sonorous landscape. Second step, record visual material (Japan) and join pre-recorded material in Basque country with this material from Tokyo over a few days Research about culture of traditions, songs and folk music; material to record. I would like to contact with local groups of music and conservation of the traditions, to approach me more to the essence. With the recorded material, start the electronic processing on the computer. Sound, video or photos editing. Possibility of showing part of the piece like a work in progress, before its conclusion; trying to pick up the reflections of the visitors after having seen this show. Incorporate this as new material. Spend two days finishing the piece. Exhibition preparation. Exhibition where I will show this work like conclusion of my research.
