Purpose of the residency
While I was in the elementary school, due to my parents' work, I had lived in Japan for a year. After deeply explore the Japanese culture, I found that there are many common sources and similar content. When traveling to different places in Japan, some subtle sights always recalled my childhood memories - from my mother's bedtime stories. The common household items can immediately evoke the audience's memories, this kind of mixed syntax can bring the ability to communicate beyond the oral language. Like a child, tells us the happening stories of lives in a humorous perspective. Through the fairy tale in order to break through the barriers between Taiwan and other countries, arousing common memories of life and to achieve cultural exchange.
Plan during the residency
In my creation, I often use the common furniture in daily life, ready-made objects, or some symbols which deep in people's minds , or cartoon characters. Through collage and re-mix the materials to create a unique world of the imagination. The use of mixed media, symbols, are like the language across borders in any country, to imagine the world have the same magic. This will only exist in the abstract emotions of the mind, surreal scene, to bring into our eyes. As a little elf appear suddenly in our living room, which make people can not remove their eyes. To use the point of view as the child to see the events in the world: the impulse comes from human nature, or the emotions and feelings which deep in the heart. Because of the contrast of the fairy tale-like narrative, so that the adult world seemed exceptionally brutal
