OPEN SITE 8 | Open Call Program【Exhibition】
Inspired by her experiences and research conducted during stays in five countries between late 2022 and early 2023, the artist examines the freedom of movement in the post-Covid age. Based on a quarantine island in New York Bay, ghost stories related to Japanese shrines in Taiwanese Taoism, and the trajectories of migratory birds in different countries, the work evokes invisible things while converting classical means of communication.

suzueri (Suzuki Elico)
Lives and works in Tokyo. Combines musical instruments and self-built devices, to stage performances and exhibitions with pronounced notions of circuitousness and restlessness. The focus here is on the dissonances in the interaction between instruments and the body, and on the narrative qualities produced by the aspect of latency in communication technology. Suzuki also does improvisational musical performances and has released several sound recordings.
