SHOJI Asami

Profile

Born in Fukushima, 1988. Lives and works in Tokyo. Graduated with an MA in Printmaking course from Tama Art University Graduate School of Fine Arts in 2012.
She says that, “The body is the beginning of painting,” and explores the physical images and sensations that arise from the experience of “looking at a painting.” Using translucent acrylic sheets and canvas as the main supports, her works are characterized by the intuitive process of painting, without assuming a finished form in advance.
