About works

She began her work with an awareness of her own Korean diaspora's physical and spiritual identity in Japanese society. This also means confronting the trauma of a negative history of colonialism, war, and discrimination. She conceptualizes the possibility of human power to recover from the trauma inherited by the diaspora. This shows the power of both the body and the spirit. She is also exploring the reasons why people give their hearts and minds to the customs and performing arts that are passed down in the community while studying Korean dance with her teacher.
