About works

Kukita creates figurative works mainly using decorative and natural objects. In recent years, she has been considering ornamentation as “nature inherent in man-made objects,” and her theme is to find the life force inherent in ornamentation through handcrafted work. On this basis, she incorporates precise, mathematical and artificial images as well as abstract, rough images that give a sense of handiwork in her work, which is presented in a variety of media.
