KOMATSU Toshihiro

Profile

Born in Shizuoka 1966. Finished his master degree of the fine art in Tokyo University of the Arts and then participated the artist-in-residence programme at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Completed another master degree of M.S.Vis.S. in Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) in 1999. 

Showed his art works at many galleries such as MoMa PS1(1999, New York), Queens Museum of Art(2000-2001, New York), Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography(2003), Wimbledon College of Art Gallery(2009, London), and also created and showed site-specific art works at "Shenzhen Hong Kong city construction Biennale 2009"(2009-2010, Shenzhen and Hong Kong), "The Echigo-Tsumari Triennale 2012"(2012), "Setouchi Triennale 2013"(2013) and etc.

Been supported by the Pollock-Krasner Foundation(2000, New York), Nomura Foundation(2009) and etc.
