About works

As a visual artist and composer with a research-based approach, I explore sound and listening in a visual arts context. Through conceptual strategies, I explore the social and institutional conditions that shape how sound is produced, mediated, and perceived. Coming from a background in improvised music, my practice has grown increasingly quiet over the years. Echoing Pierre Schaeffer, I describe my works as acousmatic objects: objects whose sound we do not hear. With the use of performance, installation and printmaking, I explore the gap between the visual and the sonic - particularly the imagined sound that bridges the two.
