Born in 1970, Emmanuel Guillaud started his career as a self-taught artist during seven years spent in Tokyo (exhibiting at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, 2005 gp gallery, 2009 etc) before confrontimng his practice to theory at Sorbonne University (Theory - led Master of Visual arts, 2014, with highest honours) and Paris Cergy National Superior School of Arts (Practice - led Master of Visual arts, 2015, with highest honours).

Nominated for Pictet Prize 2016, Palais de Tokyo's Discovery Prize 2015, he received the Tokyo Wonderwall Prize at Tokyo Museum of contemporary Art (MOT) in 2005.
