Purpose of the residency
1. Discovering Japanese culture and society
2. Knowing Japanese art world: artists, galleries, institutions
3. Producing a new visual work on the social outsiders of Japanese society
Plan during the residency
- Meeting refugees and migrants and getting to know them well
- Knowing the condition of homeless, old people, people on the margins of Japanese society (such as buraku) also with the help/suggestion of Japanese sociologists
- Trying to know as much as possible of Japanese society and the Japanese mind
- Meeting Japanese artists, gallerists, curators and critics
