Purpose of the residency
I have stayed in villages located on islands and in the mountains to make works. Those experiences have greatly changed my values I am interested in how people have accepted changes in various environments. The destination of this artist- in- residence, THAV is located in an area where there are many historical architecture and very close to the heavily populated area. Therefore, I think it is ideal for researching the historical background of the area, as well as researching about the real lives of today. At the moment, I am very interested in the houses of Taipei. How various styles of architecture seem to organically grow in the city, reminds me of the organic power of humanity.
Plan during the residency
- Research and sketch the city of Taipei. House shape, terrain.
- Sketch some pottery used in Taipei.
- Think about shapes using sketches.
