Purpose of the residency
I would like to finalize an ongoing film project about the sublimity of misfortune, absence and loss in anime series from 1960-70. In Japan I would visit various forms and impressions of the post-minimal artifact and architecture made under a similar aesthetic regime of reduction, emphasizing this idea of the wounded beauty and the simultaneous yet not identical episodes in contemporary art.
