Purpose of the residency
To participate to the program means to me, to perceive an interdisciplinary program in a cultural exchange. Related to my own work and reflections about it, its evoking questions about our being and our existence. To examine the conditions of perception in a different context like japan. Themes like incertitude and instability, which are very present in japanese life and nature meets the special interest in the own art work. How to deal with this themes and questions is one of the interests.
Plan during the residency
"Slow Light" Site Specific Scenes - Development of marks and signs with the tools of light, humans, space and time. Exploration of our beeing and our human questions in the relation of the city of Tokyo. Creating and installing time related installations (Humans, Light, Space and Time) and sceneries in the context of the city. These creations are fixed in photo and video. The documents like photos or video could for example deal and express the issue and themes like hope, the believe or the fears of incertitude or instability in this site specific scenery. The language of the work will be metaphorical or abstract way.
