Purpose of the residency
Making a poem is not only expressing meaning, but also using sound and form and rhythm so that the words themselves are felt as an original experience. I translate this way of thinking into computer-making terms: this is my way of making art. In the residence, because I can stay in major city, Tokyo, for a period of time, I want to make art works focusing on the infrastructure and system of city people's lives. And because a lot of artists come from several countries, I want to gain a wider meaning of art from the experience of seeing other creative processes.
Plan during the residency
I already started making a new work from August. The theme is convenience stores. I'll keep making and finish it in the residency. And at the same time as making this work, I want to plan and make another work adopt a big station (for example, Shinjuku or Tokyo) and a suburban bed town around Tokyo, in terms of the lives and time cycles of working people.I want to use the train as a symbolic motif of modern Tokyo.
