Purpose of the residency
I count on the period during which I am in Japan for me to feel and question my first ideas and hopefully deepen them. My residence at the Villa was focused on the development and pre-production of the project. I am currently completing sightings and requests for filming permits. I will also soon hold the cast of the different characters. I believe that continuing my work in Tokyo Wonder Site is complementary with my residency at the Villa Kujoyama. I was in a period of research at the Villa Kujoyama until December and I would like to make the production of my project in Tokyo Wonder Site. The period during which I would like to work with you is from September to October 2013. I would like to continue and developp my work with the actors and the all the partnership by beeing closer to them, and spending time focused in Tokyo sensibilities. My artistic practice grows primarily around visual arts and numerous collaborations. Having the chance to be in residence at Tokyo Wonder Site would give me the opportunity to work with your team and develop my relationship with the Japanese art scene but also with other artists in residence.
Plan during the residency
I am currently preparing the project that will be presented in collaboration with the French Institut, The Kyoto City Hall and the Kyoto Univerisity of Art. This project will be presented during the next "Nuit Blanche" (White Night Festival). It's a work in collaboration with a japanese artist called Atsunobu Kohira. In parallel I want to continue the production of my project called Ukiyo-e and develop a serie of photography in Tokyo City.
