Purpose of the residency
tokyo ultranature | ultranature in japan - Nature is one of the topics of ultranature. A research will be dedicated to this theme. Nature is strongly felt in Tokyo: it is revealed by its dedication, its tradition and festivities and on the other hand by its powerful presence and the peculiar geology of its territory. Ultranature will cooperate with its citizens and the institutions to realize artworks concerning their relation to nature. - Everyday: Ultranature will try to depict its coexisting rhythms and let them react to the artists' different perceptions of time and space. For this proposal desires, projections, fears, dreams will represent a possible approach to a country's feeling and expression. - Tokyo5seconds is a visual collaboration which invites citizens to dialogue with the artists. An instant display of the working on process will be projected in different, chosen sites of Tokyo.

Taking notes - making contacts
Everyday diary of drawings, photographies and videos. Ultranature will create a repertory of their experiences and discoveries in Tokyo.
Location - repertory
The second two weeks of the first month will consist in a listing of themes and subjects revealed in the previous weeks as well as the location of sites for the following research and production.
Public presentations and interactions with other residents of the TWS and artists in Tokyo are foreseen. An everyday blog will be created.
Communicating - producing - showing
Our aim is to organise an exhibition of some previous works in spaces devoted to art as well as, if appreciated, in alternative public spaces to approach Tokyo citizens.
