Purpose of the residency
The reason why I want to be at Tokyo Wonder Site is because I will have the opening to spend a few months working in a new and exciting context that will definitely challenge my projects' whole reason d'être. I am eager to be surrounded by circumstances that can take my investigations into the next level. Tokyo's unique urban composition has since long fascinated me, and I've always wanted to have the opportunity to be immersed in it. I am sure this environment will offer me the kind of input I need for my future works. I am also very enthusiastic about meeting local and international artists and being exposed to new projects and artistic proposals.
Plan during the residency
During this residency I would like to follow up on my line of research, which is mainly devoted to elaborating artificial landscapes that can offer the spectator a glimpse of a new and baffling reality. The way that I approach new projects varies depending on the context I'm working at. In this case, I am planning to explore Tokyo and study its frenzied urban layout. I will be collecting both visual and physical material that will be incorporated into my new production. Since I like to confront dissimilar elements in order to create divergent situations and bewildering scenarios, Tokyo is definitely an ideal place to engage in such kind of an adventure.
