Purpose of the residency
I'd like to get involved in the culture and way of life in Japan and to gain insights into the production of art and the gallery scene in Tokyo.
I'm interested in the contrasts and rapid changes in life situations of modern Tokyo. And I will observe a scientific research project that develops a deep-sea robot.
Three months absorb, collect, then return to Europe and continue to experiment with a lot of new impressions and materials.
Plan during the residency
During my stay in Tokyo I will have the opportunity to get access to a scientific research project. My cousin is temporary staying in Tokyo working on a research project developing a deep-sea robot. During the construction and experimentation deep-sea photographs are resulting. I may use the images that arise from these deep-sea robots for an artistic work. I want to experiment with the photographs and see what the perception does with my artistic work.
