A performance of live electronic works in which vocalists are required to sight-read a score and keep singing endlessly. The score and electronic sound are produced based upon their voices in real-time, and as long as performers are uttering sound the process of performance/generation is repeated. Vocalists must keep swimming in a flood of voices that has been made out of control by media technology, and it even restricts performers.

Profile

Chiku Komiya

Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1993. Chiku Komiya graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (Music Composition), and is currently studying for a master's degree in Music Composition at Tokyo University of the Arts. His works are based on the interest in the relationship between the media technology and the body which listens and play music/sound. He creates acoustic compositions, live electronic works and sound installations.
