Luis Urculo is a Spanish artist who participated in Exchange Residency Program
In this exhibition, video works including "COVERS" and "ESSAY ON RUINS" are shown in the cafe.
"COVERS" is an investigation about architecture as a consumption object or souvenir and its relation with the domestic non-specialized language of everyday things. The work is a reconstruction and review of iconic monumental pieces of architecture; its concept is based on the music covers where the original is manipulated, re-represented, revisited to create something new. "ESSAY ON RUINS" shows the descending movement of the compositions until reaching their formal ruin / rupture, as recording a structure of woods falling down in a couple of seconds in front of a camera.
Enjoy his works with a cup of coffee and new lunch meals.
Born in Madrid, 1978 and graduated from ESCUELA TECNICA SUPERIOR DE ARQUITECTURA DE MADRID E.T.S.A.M in 2006. Urulo's work has been based on a redefenition of the possible tools, procedures and formats within architecture. Mainly is an investigation focused on representation and the capture-narrative of the 'invisible' that defines the space.
