ウィーン美術アカデミー卒業。ポール・グリューンドルファーは、音をそれぞれの場所の持つ基準に対する働きかけと反動の知覚的現象や、段階的な媒体として探求している。サイト・スペシフィックなインターヴェンション、過程重視のプロジェクト、音響彫刻、電子装置を通じて、音がどのように機能しているかや音の現われ方について考察している。
