Born in Osaka in 1999. Lives and works in Tokyo. Working primarily with dance and performance, Toyoda creates
works that incorporate structures such as rules, games, and audience participation. In recent years, drawing on her experience as a choreographer in the position of giving instructions, Toyoda has centered her practice on experiments in which she establishes ambiguous rules and observes performers’ judgments and responses to them.
