Bertrand SCHEFER
Profile
Born in 1972 Bertrand Schefer lives and works in Paris. Graduated in Philosophical studies at the Sorbonne University. He early edited and translated several important texts from the Renaissance about the beginning of the Visual Art Theory. He concludes his erudite research by the first translation of the 'Zibaldone', the huge poetical and philosphical diary (4000 pages) by Giacomo Leopardi, Italian writer and thinker of the early 19th Century. He published his first novel in 2008 ('L'âge d'or', ed. Allia) and is currently working as a scriptwriter with different film directors including Valérie Mréjen with whom he just co-directed a first feature film to be released in the spring.
About works / performance
He began his work by an exploration of the ancient systems of representation (Theory of Light in the Renaissance, Theater of Memory, Visual Encyclopedia...) as the beginning of Cinema.
