update: 2008.2.1
Rødland's photographic images channel their motifs into a web of correlations, both substantive and mythological. They reveal a fascination for the ambiguity experienced by cultural and natural phenomena.
During his TWS-residency, Rødland worked on a portrait-project focusing on paint and other coloured liquids on human skin. He also did research on 'the Moe image' and on the links between 'kawaiiness' and Japanese sadomasochism.
An by-product of the TWS-residency is the book "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF - TORBJØRN RØDLAND", published by LIBRARYMAN, Stockholm, 2009.
