Because after beeing graduated as an scenographer, I've chosen to work with light, I 'm used to move throught various fields of activities, like performing art architecture, and visual art .
My ambition is to make the wave motion of light obvious, deliberatly through an artificial device. It is also to study its variations, and at the same time to point at the active aspect of the spectator' eye. Moreover, my work looks at the opposition between the frailty of anapparition and the brutality of a mechanism. We often talk about the 'immaterial' quality of light. But we can question this preconceivedfeature... anyway light has a lot to do with the notion of shape and what is shapeless, it is quite important to me at least.
The very word 'study' was chosen on purpose : it consists in asserting the observation of the behaviour of the appearing light phenomena, thanks to the speed they go through, just like fluids. A tiny variation of speed creates infinite modulations of the shapes and of the extension within the space. I have been using the stationary waves for a long time in my work.
