Born in 1992 in Madurai, India. Lives and works in Bengaluru, India. Graduated with a Master in Information Design from the National Institute of Design in 2019.

Kamak is a curator and creative producer working at the intersection of art, science, and emerging technologies. With a training in biological science and design, her practice brings together scientists, artists, and communities to engage with complex contemporary issues in the public domain.

About curation

My curatorial practice explores how art-science collaboration can make complex and urgent issues accessible, emotionally resonant, and publicly meaningful. Working across curation, cultural research, and interdisciplinary production, I bring together scientists, artists and the public to examine questions around health, biotechnology, ecology, and the Anthropocene. My current research focuses on how capitalism-driven genetic technologies are erasing heirloom rice varieties across India and Japan. Through participatory methods and collaborative workshops I would like to explore genetic colonization, food sovereignty, and cultural identity.
