Born in 1987. Works in Aichi. Building on experiences with mountaineering and other high-altitude activities, Karasawa makes mountains and rivers his primary sculptural subjects. He employs a distinctive technique, carving hollows into camphor wood and filling them with melted paraffin wax which then hardens into many-layered formations.
