“SOLO” is a research-based performance telling the history of an Indonesian folk song “Bengawan Solo”. The song is not only popular in Indonesia but is also sung in Taiwanese, Japanese and Cantonese during the 20th Century. SOLO—as the name of the Indonesian river and also as an one-man show, the work aims to mix the stories of post war Taiwan, Japan and Indonesia into one melody.

Profile

Born in Taiwan in 1989. Performance artist who lives and works in Taipei. His practice includes contemporary dance, performance art, music and history research. Holding the bachelor degree of law and MA of performing art theory, he pays extra attention to the power and political interactions among multiple disciplines.
