OPEN SITE 6 | Open Call Program【Performance】
An international composition contest will be held as a memorial to an imaginary figure named “Keiko Yoneda.” After works are submitted through open-call, a final screening in concert format will be held at TOKAS, and the Yoneda Prize of 100,000 yen will be awarded. Presenting works assembled through public open-call with honors and monetary awards in the name of a fictitious individual emphasizes the inherently constructed nature of competitive systems, which have the effect of determining value for a particular community. This competition reframes this institutional redistribution of cultural value and capital as a ritualistic project entailing audience participation (through the open call for submissions).

Profile
The KYICC 2021 Committee was formed in 2021 by members of Théâtre Musical Tokyo (TMT). The concept of an international contest commemorating the fictional personage Keiko Yoneda arose during TMT’s participation in OPEN SITE 2018-2019, where they performed "Keiko Yoneda (1912-1992): Her Works and Life."
