The artist Iinuma Tamami presents materials from a research project conducted in the process of producing a photo book of the same title, published in July 2020. The subject of her research was architectural photographs taken by the late critic Taki Koji, and the 12,000 shots were entrusted by Taki to Shinohara Kazuo, Sakamoto Kazunari, Ito Toyo, and Shirasawa Hironori, architects who designed the houses pictured, during his lifetime. During the exhibition, contributors of texts for the photo book and those who related to this project will assemble around this photo book and aim to conduct a generation-spanning dialogue.

Profile
IINUMA Tamami
Born in 1983. Lives and works in Tokyo/Paris. Graduated with PhD in Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018. Iinuma trains her camera on “History” in the form of architecture and explores “His-story,” presenting the results in the form of photographic prints and artist’s books. In 2020 she founded the publisher House of Architecture and published the photo book Searching for the Language of a House: Architectural Photography of Koji Taki.
