OPEN SITE 2019-2020 | Open Call Program【Exhibition】
ENDO Kaori, Uesu (Waste), 2019
HANASAKI Kaya, Kaya no Soto, 2015
YANAI Shino, Blue Passages, 2016
What is it that we fear as we go about our lives? Or perhaps, what is it that we should fear? The “bushes” in the title comes from a Japanese word that was used in Japan long ago as a metaphor for “horrors” undetectable by the eye. Three female artists—ENDO Kaori, HANASAKI Kaya, and YANAI Shino—use their own respective manners of artistic expression to expose the bushes=horrors that lurk in modern society in an exhibition also meant to contemplate how we might overcome those very horrors.
