Violinist, Saori Nakazawa took part in TWS Local Creator Residency Program in 2013. During her residency, she met a lot of creators from other fields than music, and was stimulated by their activities and through conversation with them.
Taking up J.S. Bach's famous "Chaconne" as a theme, here she creates a multi-media performance which music, video projection, and poetry reading blend in.
Chaconne is a musical form in triple time whose repetitive passage of bass-line generates variations and harmonic progressions.
Playing J.S. Bach's "Chaconne" many times, Saori came to feel something infinite--cycle of nature and large flow of life-- in the repetition of the passage.
This performance features the famous "Chaconne" and poems written after the disaster by Ryoichi Wago, poet living in Fukushima. Nakazawa tries to express unending flowing time which enfolds absurdities inside.
